Gavin Friday is an Irish artist, singer/songwriter, composer, painter and actor. He is a former member of the post-punk band Virgin Prunes.

Since 1989 he has released three studio albums, Each Man Kills the Thing He Loves, Adam 'n' Eve and Shag Tobacco. He created the soundtrack for the Oscar-winning film In The Name Of The Father, and has written score for The Boxer, In America and the 50 cent biopic Get Rich or Die Tryin'.

His first film role was as the glammed up show band rocker Billy Hatchet in Neil Jordan's Breakfast on Pluto, starring Cillian Murphy.

Gavin Friday is currently writing his fourth solo album with Cork-based musician Herb Macken.
