Brian Wang is a long time futurist (he won second place in the Honeywell University Futurist contest). Listed as a big Thinker on the KurzweilAI site. Member of the Center for Responsible Nanotechnology taskforce. Advisor to the Nanoethics Group. Advisor to Lifeboat Foundation. Senior associate of the Foresight Institute from 1997-2006. He helped write the 2003 Foresight Institute organization relaunch plan.

He worked in Asia (Taiwan, Hong Kong, China) for 2.5 years as a business manager and analyzed and projected the progress of asian economies as part of his work.

He has a degree in computer science and an MBA and has worked in the IT industry for 20 years. He created and ran his own professional services computer consulting company with offices in Canada and the United states and clients in the USA and Europe.

He has lived in the Bay area for the last ten years where he has been in touch with the technological changes of this area.
